Kochi LNG Tank Project
Completed in 2012 • Kochi, Kerala, India
In March 2012, IHI completed the construction of two large-scale LNG storage tanks for an LNG import terminal in Kochi, located in the southern Indian state of Kerala. IHI conducted the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of the said LNG storage tanks, each with storage capacity of 155,000m3 and over 50m in height. Over the years, LNG has been used as an alternative energy source with low environmental impact, as LNG imported to this terminal will be used primarily for power generation and fertilizer plants. IHI will continue to contribute to the growth of India’s energy infrastructure.
