In 2010, IHI has delivered four units of LM6000 generator to Karratha, Australia, for Rio Tinto Groups’ mining operations. IHI, together with IHI Engineering Australia Pty. Ltd., undertook the project as the EPC contractor, providing total engineering solution. By integrating LM6000 power generation with low NOx combustors, power enhancement kit, and IHI-developed control units, IHI have provided a power generation facility equipped with environmental pollution control measures to the client. Through this project, IHI have enabled the client to ship out 220 million tons of iron ore per year from the Pilbara region.
